Advantages and Limitations
 
Advantages: The advantages to manually deflected catheters are: larger flexibility possibility of 3D movements more stable endocardial contact shorter fluoroscopy time no radiation exposure for the physician shorter procedure time Limitations: Catheter magnetic guidance cannot be used on patients: with magnetic prosthesis or electronic implant (e.g. pacemaker, defibrillators, vascular clips) with a body weight weigh greater than 300 lbs claustrophobic with hemodynamic instability with recent myocardial infarction or cardiac surgery
