          Future Work

          OCT axial resolution keeps increasing (< 1 micrometer) with ever broader source while lateral resolution lags

          behind (15 micrometer ). OCT at cellular level need improvement of lateral resolution.

         

          Focus Tracking (match focal depth with coherence depth) is one of the solutions. Liquid filled polymer lens are

          MEMS rotating mirror are both possible solutions under research.  Liquid filled polymer lens, which can adjust

          lens shape through modifying liquid pressure, has been developed. There is also MEMS membrane rotating

          mirror, that can measure velocity much more accurate.
