the next step in training and robotic surgeries

Introduction

Welcome!  This site is focused on haptic feedback and how it is and will be used by the medical field.  The two areas that would benefit the most from haptic feedback is medical training and robotic surgeries.  If you don't know what haptic feedback is please visit the "What is Haptic Feedback?" page.  This page will cover the definition of haptic feedback as well as how it is used in the world today.  The Current Uses "In Medical Training" and "In Robotic Surgeries" pages will give some examples of how haptic feedback is used today in the medical field.  As you will see, there are many examples in medical training and very few in robotic surgeries.  If you are curious about what is next for haptics in medicine, visit the Future Uses "In Medical Training" and "In Robotic Surgeries" pages.  These pages touch on a few examples of how haptics will help to improve both medical training and robotic surgeries.  If you would like to explore this topic further, visit the "References" page for a list of pages and websites with much more information.

Below are a few pictures of different haptic devices that have been developed.  Some of these have been implemented into surgical trainers others are used in different industries.
